As he is fond of saying "national history is local history, somewhere."

René M. Lafayette's

Philosophy of Teaching

You may want to summarize it as his belief in American Exceptionalism. But beyond that, Mr. Lafayette considers the past, present and future of America as he presents the lessons of American history to his students.

Patriotism or love of country is not an empty phrase; it is on display in the classroom - in conversations and discussions; and, is reaffirmed daily as this son of a World War II  Army veteran shares the practical applications of history with the future leaders of the community, Commonwealth and Republic who are seated before him.

Throughout every experience, civility should be the watchword, the standard we strive to achieve.
